Amy Mintz was recently featured as a Guest Writer by Dr. Howard Gardner on his Official Site of Multiple Intelligence. (Howard Gardner is the developmental psychologist and Hobbs Professor of Cognition and Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education who developed the Theory of Multiple Intelligences). Her blog, Using Multiple Intelligences Theory to Understand Your "Superpowers" discusses MI9 Team superheroes and the effectiveness of the multiple intelligences to increase self-esteem in youth.

Mintz and her 501(c)3 nonprofit organization have also been featured in numerous other publications including the Philanthropy Journal and The Instute for Research on Unlimited Love.

About the Founder

Amy Mintz founded eGirl Power, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to bring awareness to Gender Equality and support Girls' Education. eGirl Power's goals are to empower young girls to improve their confidence, self-esteem, and achieve their full potential. Mintz supervises, directs and oversees all operations and affairs of the nonprofit organization and programs, including the annual Youth Leadership Summit, educational workshops, "Career Day" field trips, Junior Council, mentorship and more.

Mintz serves as the Gala Chair of her organization's PIFA Awards Gala, held at The Yale Club NYC Grand Ballroom. The PIFA Awards Gala recognizes and honors outstanding individuals who have dedicated their lives to giving back, and celebrates paying it forward and inspires others to take action. This special event to raise awareness and support for eGirl Power, award several extraordinary honorees in 2016, including Loreen Arbus, Allan Luks, Dr. Stephen Post, and more, and featured Rita Cosby as the Emcee, Beyonce's protege Sophie Beem as one of the performers, with numerous celebrities and notables in attendance.

Amy Mintz is the Author and Creator of the MI9 Team series, which she started working on in 2013, inspired by her experiences growing up overseas in different countries around the world. She has dedicated all proceeds from MI9 Team: Unity Among Differences to Girl Power in support of the organization's mission to bring awareness to Gender Equality and support Girls' Education. The MI9 Team is about female-led superheroes who join forces for social change. Each member of the MI9 Team member represents one of the nine multiple intelligences: verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, musical-rhythmic, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic and existential.

As President of the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, she has successfully led several past programs of the organization, including Project Pay It Forward, which inspires the youth to make a positive change by applying their special skills, unique talents and passions to make a difference in their community. This nationwide program reached youth in 40+ states throughout the country, and provided educational curriculum, resources and grant opportunities to support the youth.

Other past programs include Student Body TV, which educated the public on America’s challenges with college affordability and its impact on the youth. The Student Body TV program provided several opportunities and resources for individuals faced with the challenges of unaffordable higher education costs and student loan debt, including several scholarships offered by the nonprofit organization to support students in achieving a higher education. Another previous program, CrowdFundEDU, supported students, educators, schools and organizations to raise funds for educational purposes through a crowdfunding platform.

Prior to founding her 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2011, Amy focused on her expertise in web development and multimedia production through her consulting business. She also has years of experience in education, teaching at Title I schools and working directly with at-risk and disadvantaged youth. Amy earned her teaching license in 2005 from the Graduate School of Education at George Mason University as a fellowship recipient and was recognized with the Meritorious New Teacher Candidate Designation of Excellence. She received her Bachelor's degree with a double major in Psychology and Fine Arts from James Madison University in 2000.

Amy has served as an Advisory Board Member of the Great Shift Foundation and on the Steering Committee and Public Relations Committee of several arts organizations in the Washington DC area. She has received art awards from the Vienna Arts Society and Art League Gallery.
